Introducing George Stoyanov

George Stoyanov is a young designer from Bulgaria, specialising in CGI, 3D visualisation and illustration. Creating highly detailed versions of objects and effects, his skilled body of work showcases his versatile ability to digitally reproduce remarkable photorealistic results. Working on personal and professional projects for big brands including Nike and BBC, George is able to breathe life into an otherwise two-dimensional form of media.

We love his vibrant, bold style and were interested to find out just how he produces such realistic results.

How did you become interested in creating 3D photorealistic work and what do you like most about it?
I have had an interest in 3D modelling and rendering for about 2 years now. I like it because it gives me more freedom, with 3D you can create almost everything without any limitations.

Can you talk us through the design process, do you start with initial sketches before using the computer?
The process of creating is always changing. I almost never start with a rough sketches, it always starts with a few ideas. I try to develop them as much as possible and then focus on the best.

How long does an image take to create on average and what factors can hugely affect this?
The duration of the rendering depends on the particular project, it may be from 10 minutes to 10 hours and even more. Materials such as glass, wood, water, reflective colours can seriously increase the time it takes to achieve optimal results. Post-production is also of great importance, after each renderer I use Photoshop. At the end of the process, everything becomes real, this is actually always my end goal!

What projects are you working on next?
I am currently working in some interesting projects, they are both personal and for clients. There are typographical projects which I think will become exciting, people can check my work out at

George’s exuberant digital designs lend themselves perfectly to greetings cards, and we were thrilled to work with George on the range which you can view on our shop here.
