Francesca Tiley

Meet the artist

Bringing a cast of heartwarming characters to life, Francesca Tiley creates fresh, vibrant art - made for brightening overcast days.

For Rainbow of Hope, Evermade's latest artwork series, we came together with Francesca to create a print centred on the rainbow. You can purchase the final original piece below - with 100% of profits being donated to NHS Charities Together.

Francesca Tiley’s charming illustrations, designs, and hand-rendered lettering all find their roots in her British-Mexican upbringing in London. Drawing from both the electric, eclectic energy of her home city and the rich cultural stories of Mexico, Tiley’s artwork blooms from fertile grounds of inspiration - the result is an illustrative style we can't get enough of. Her charismatic “clay ladies” are adorned with intricate hand-painted patterning, her character scenes simmer with colour, and her drawings of thirst-quenching pop brim with tantalising freshness - transporting us to a hot summer day. By putting out such welcoming work into the world, Tiley has been exhibited time and time again in London and Brighton and sought after by the likes of Island Records and Anorak Magazine for her refreshing vision.

While Francesca regularly uses digital practices, all her work retains the flow, richness, and care found in a hand-drawn piece. Through this quality, her printed products burst with personality - and if bought into your home are sure to be treasured.

Who was on your playlist whilst working on this project?

Leon Bridges's soft summery voice

Who are some artists you really admire at the moment?

Sonia Delaunay and Lisa Congdon - both celebrate colour and pattern with such joy.

What are the positives you have come across during lockdown and how do you think it will change your point of view in the future?

Yoga has been a new discovery! But also being grateful every single day - I hope that stays with me after all of this is over.

What are you looking forward to most when the lockdown is over?

Enjoying a drink in the sunshine with my boyfriend...and hugging, loads of hugging!

What’s your message to healthcare workers right now?

Thank you for your courage and continuous hard work, we are incredibly lucky to have you.

Having had the pleasure of collaborating with Francesca on our last WWF Earth Hour project, we thought our newest technicolour series, Rainbow of Hope, seemed tailored fit for the artist. Adorned with the bold, yet endlessly pleasing patterns Tiley always serves, her print is an exercise in colour and lettering. Titled Hope & Courage, Tiley told us her "colourful and joyful design” was made “to help remind us of what's important during difficult times."

Tiley’s uplifting offering can be purchased below and your buy will go towards our NHS - 100% of the profits from Rainbow of Hope are donated to NHS Charities Together.
