Stephanie DeAngelis

Meet the artist

Interdisciplinary artist Stephanie DeAngelis portrays the everyday through a prism of female experience.

For Rainbow of Hope, Evermade's latest artwork series, we came together with Stephanie to create a print that re-imagines the rainbow. You can purchase the final female-centric vision below - with 100% of profits being donated to NHS Charities Together.

Never one to shy away from the smaller details, Stephanie DeAngelis’ pastel scenes are comprised of otherwise overlooked moments. We all know the ones. Your daily Instagram scroll on the commute, lounging with your plants, chowing down on some late-night pasta - DeAngelis’ nonchalant female characters re-live them all through soft lines and whimsical backdrops. Whatever the scene, the Los-Angelis based artist told us that honesty remains her priority. Her personal experiences shine through even when drawing the most universal situations and issues - particularly her zeal for plants of every kind. Such a flair for storytelling has allowed DeAngelis to bring intimacy, as well as powerful female forms, to commissions for Refinery29, Anthropologie, Man Repeller, Outdoor Voices, Zappos, and Martha Stewart.

At its core, the DNA of Stephanie's work stems from the quiet, comical, and wholesome behaviour of humans left to their own devices. Under our current quarantine climate, we know that such images have never felt more relatable - or delightfully soothing.

What are you looking forward to most when the lockdown is over?

I wanted to visit as many National Parks as possible in the US this year. I was fortunate enough to go to Yosemite in February and fell in love. I hope nature has some time to heal while we are away.

What's your message to health workers right now?

Thank you for sacrificing so much for the public. You are the heroes in this story, I hope you know that. We support you and will not forget how you answered the call to help others.

Stephanie’s latest female-focused creation draws from mother nature herself. For our Rainbow of Hope project, DeAngelis has captured one of the rare silver linings to lockdown - the restorative impact it's had on our environment. When we caught up with Stephanie, she revealed she “wanted to create something that evokes the calming presence nature has waiting for us,” “hopefully she gets a chance to relax while we are inside.”

If you know someone in need of a ray of sunshine, you can purchase Stephanie’s original artwork titled Rays below - the profits will go straight to NHS Charities Together.
