Even when producing patterns made to be looked at from a distance, designer Louise Jones hides tiny details in her botanical work. Whether it’s the fine halo of fuzz on succulents or specks of light hitting a fern frond - we could stare at Louise’s floral spectacles all day and still find hidden secrets. From her home in the “leafy landscapes of Mount Dandenong, Victoria," Louise finds constant sources of inspiration in the Australian wildlife surrounding her - offering the rest of the world a glimpse into this naturally abundant Eden too. Through a distinct combination of mediums, including watercolour and photography, Jones creates deceptively realistic, yet bold interpretations of the nature that surrounds her.
Louise's final textural designs are predominantly printed onto fabrics, wallpapers, and soft furnishings - going on to imbue all kinds of interiors with organic wonder. Here at Evermade, we fall head over heels for every single dreamy design.

Who was on your playlist whilst working on this project?
I've started an all-girl rock playlist for my two daughters, it's a work in progress but artists include Peaches, Gossip, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Who are some artists you really admire at the moment?
Philippa Taylor (Potter), Anna Glover (Designer), Amy Wright (artist) and sooo many more :)

What are the positives you have come across during lockdown? How do you think it will change your point of view in the future?
Delving into new projects and learning new things that I wouldn't have had the time to normally.

After chatting with Louise about her life during lockdown, the designer talked us through the meaning behind her latest artwork - a botanical contribution to our Rainbow of Hope art series. “Rainbow poppies,” the artist affirmed, “are in honour of the courageous NHS nurses, doctors and staff who are banding together and sacrificing so much for the well being and safety of others.” Balancing soft linework with lustrous colour, Louise’s picturesque poppies exude a bold sense of hope, and gratitude.
