Meet the Artist

Visual designer Edinah Chewe is “helping to make the internet a little less ordinary.”

We had the delight of collaborating with Edinah for our latest rainbow-inspired artwork series, Rainbow of Hope. Discover her thoughtful new piece below - it's available for purchase now with 100% of the profits going to NHS Charities Together.

Looking for some visual inspiration? Feeling down in the design dumps? Stop what you’re doing and click on Wildlogic - the creative studio birthed by Edinah Chewe. Trust us, this is a zone of eye-popping visuals and untethered creativity only. Or as Edinah puts it, “a multidisciplinary design space for free ideas to thrive and unconsidered projects to form.” The Brooklyn-based artist works across brand identity, illustration, and visual communication - and she is hitting factory reset on the world of mundane web pages. When it comes to proving that business and artistic freedom actually can go hand in hand - one look at Wildlogic is all the proof we need.

Aesthetic wise, colourful gradients, playful textures, and crystal clean concepts are all mainstays for Edinah. Always equal parts emotive and exciting, her stand-out style can be spotted across commissions for Refinery29 x GIPHY, London Fashion Week x Black Girls in Fashion, Melanation, and The Mujerista.

But Edinah isn’t only about stunning aesthetics, her practice is also bringing positive social impact to the forefront. Whether it's through her empowering collaborations or typographic mantras on self-love and creative growth, Chewe is championing for change.

In a worldwide web awash in ordinary, this creative practice is anything but.

What are the positives you have come across during lockdown? How do you think it will change your point of view in the future?

The last few months have brought about newfound perspectives (both personally and professionally), unleashed a new creative process, and shown me another way to appreciate my every day — that I know my future forever has shifted for the better.

What are you looking forward to most when the lockdown is over?

Being able to travel and immerse myself in other cultures.

What’s your message to health workers right now?

I'm extremely grateful for their devotion, tenacity, and courage because if it wasn't for them helping and healing those in need, who knows what our current reality would be like.

While lockdown might be loosening, for anyone still feeling the pain of isolation - or even the no-hugs-allowed strain of 2M distancing - Edinah’s latest artwork is one for you. As part of our Rainbow of Hope series, her two-toned print is here to remind us that “distance means nothing when family means everything.”

“I was inspired by the idea of coming together,” Edinah tells us on conceiving her design, “I created this in the hope of inspiring others to remember that distance is only as far as it feels.” Featuring a simmering palette and inspirational message, this print exudes warmth in every way.
