Jenni Sparks’ meticulous hand-drawn process brings to life everything from palace architecture and bustling markets to indie coffee shops and backstreet galleries. Unlike typical tourist maps, this artwork reflects the real shape and layout of the city. The Han River cuts gracefully through the centre; metro lines weave accurately beneath; mountains rise where they truly do. It’s an illustrated celebration of how geography shapes everyday life in Seoul.

Spanning the city

The Hand-Drawn Map of Seoul covers much of the city’s core and surroundings: stretching from the tranquil hills of Bukhansan in the north to the cultural quarters south of the river, and from Yeonnam-dong and Hongdae in the west to Olympic Park and Seongsu-dong in the east.
