Peter Judson | Earth Hour Artist Interview

Tell us about yourself?

I’m a freelance Designer and Illustrator from London working across fields including Editorial, Mural, fashion and more recently furniture. My work tends to focus on the little details that slip by unnoticed with a big influence from our environment, architecture and the cities we live, often with a colourful and postmodern execution.

What’s the title of your art piece?

Moving Target

What’s the meaning/thinking behind your art piece?

I wanted to illustrate the challenge of tackling climate change and communicate how this goal is constantly moving in the wrong direction, but also portray a sense of optimism, In the sense that events like Earth Hour represents a potential to bring the target back into reach.

Describe your style in 3 words.

Colour (Apart from in this piece!), Concept, Composition.

Who's on your playlist while working on this project?

Loads of Yusef Lateef, Pharaoh Sanders and Ornette Coleman.

Where & what will you be doing at this year’s Earth Hour on 28th March 2020?

I’d love to say I will be planting 10,000 new trees but I’ll probably just turn my lights off, every little helps!

If you could change one thing in this world, what would it be and why?

Concerning the environment, a little less conversation from our governments regarding the transition to renewable energy. We’ve got the technology now just need our governments to turn their platitudes into plans and start doing what they are promising.
